What to Do

Support for Microsoft Software Update Services (SUS) ends on December 6, 2005.

SUS has been replaced by Windows Server Update Service (WSUS). Update content will no longer be available through SUS after December 6, 2006. To receive critical updates for your network, you must upgrade to WSUS.

WSUS also provides additional benefits over SUS. In addition to Server and Client Operating System software updates currently available through SUS, WSUS supports critical updates for Office 2003 applications.

Why should I care:
To have Afinety manage your critical updates for you, you must have WSUS installed on your network. Without WSUS, your network will not receive critical updates after December 6, 2005.

Cost for Update:
WSUS is available for download from the Microsoft web site at no cost. WSUS requires customizations for your server and client configurations. Afinety will install and configure WSUS for your network and applications at a flat rate of $250.00 per network. Monthly update charges will continue at existing rates of $100 for the first server and $50 for each additional server.

Note: Afinety only downloads and installs Microsoft Critical Updates. All other updates are performed as necessary via Standard Afinety Support.
