Action Required

Effective January 1, 2006, the California certificate of acknowledgment must be in the form set forth in Civil Code section 1189, rather than "substantially" in the form set forth therein. The form set forth in Civil Code section 1189 did not change, but variations in the California form are no longer permitted. (The law regarding acknowledgments to be used with documents to be filed in other states has not changed (Civil Code § 1189(c)).

Clients with Afinety Macros:
1. Clients with Afinety Macros should contact Afinety Support to schedule an appointment to complete a macro update for this form.

2. The update requires approximately one hour of macro editing time. Afinety clients that request this macro update will be billed in the next billing cycle.

Clients without Afinety Macros:
Clients that do not have Afinety Macros should contact Afinety Sales to schedule a consultation and demonstration. An estimate will be provided after the consultation.
